Bombay Sapphire's immersive experience at Vivid Sydney brought its essence to life through a captivating blend of art, sound, and flavour. Working with a brand synonymous with innovation and artistic flair, was an exhilarating experience. Our partnership aimed to bring their distinctive character into the vibrant setting of Vivid Sydney 2022, a festival celebrated for its dazzling light displays and creative spirit.
As the Creative Director, I was presented with the exciting task of leveraging Bombay Sapphire's major sponsorship of Vivid Sydney. The challenge was to create an activation that not only showcased the brand's flavours but also resonated with the festival's artistic and sensory richness.
To meet this challenge, we envisioned a 360-degree immersive experience that would bring Bombay Sapphire's flavours to life through art and sound. Collaborating with the exceptional Australian artist Elliott Routledge, that created illustrations representing each flavour of Bombay. These were then animated using projection mapping technology, synced with a neural looping audio track produced by DJ Nicky Night Time. My role was to orchestrate all these elements, ensuring the final product stayed true to both the brand and Elliott’s artistic vision.
The result was a captivating pop-up bar in Tumbalong Park, Sydney, which became a highlight of Vivid Sydney. Visitors could immerse themselves in an environment that was more than just a tasting experience; it was a journey through flavour, art, and sound, each element perfectly complementing the others to create a unique sensory experience.
