Using augmented reality to transform patient education and sales engagement for Xolair, making complex medical information accessible and engaging while breathing life into medical understanding.
Working with Novartis, a renowned pharmaceutical company, I was tasked by their agency, Hatch, with the challenge of enhancing the understanding of Xolair, a medication crucial for many asthma patients. Our relationship was built on a shared goal of improving communication between doctors, patients, and Novartis representatives, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the medication's workings.
The primary challenge was the existing gap in medical knowledge among patients and the lack of engagement in understanding how Xolair works. Additionally, Novartis representatives needed an effective way to communicate the drug's benefits and mechanism to healthcare professionals and patients. The brief aimed to simplify complex medical concepts into something easily digestible and engaging.
My solution was to develop an augmented reality (AR) application focused on educating users about allergic asthma and the specific action of Xolair. This involved creating detailed lung models and using AR technology to illustrate how allergic asthma develops and how Xolair operates to alleviate symptoms. The AR experience was designed to be intuitive and interactive, making learning about these medical concepts a more engaging experience for all parties involved.
See it in action:
The AR application was a resounding success, significantly improving comprehension among both doctors and patients. It provided a clear, visual explanation of the medication, aiding in better adherence and understanding of Xolair. This innovative approach to patient education and sales support was well-received, marking a significant step forward in how medical information is communicated.
